As we stare into 2022, we march in with a load of 2021 problems or consequences of 2021 issues. So how would we not fear? Like the disciples, we feel like our boat might get swamped. But, during the storms of 2021, Jesus was with us. Whatever storm are coming in 2022, Jesus is already there.

On Christmas With The Chosen, every moment pointed away from the presenters and to Jesus. Every moment. Every song. Every drama. I feel more spiritually prepared for Christmas than I have in years. We’ve endured much in the last 20 months. And the finish line seems more like a mirage than a destination. So the needed reminders resound in the deepest meaning: God With Us!

The new stories from Afghanistan horrify my imagination. And the reports slipping out by through Christian agencies keep me up at night. I cannot imagine enduring what they are going through. And so I do all I know to do. I pray. Because my feeble words seem so insufficient, these prayers come straight from Scripture.

How do we find and create the perfect home? To me, home means overcrowding, warm meals, squeezing one more around the table, overflowing bedrooms, and scattered toys. After eighteen years, our house has become another member of the family. But soon we will move, so how do find our next perfect home?

I desire my later years to be more impactful than my earlier days. I see no reason to sit back and coast to my heavenly home. But to accomplish that I need to find energy from somewhere. The first place I’m looking is my STUFF. If I have to manage, organize, and clean fewer possessions, I’ll have more energy for what matters. For the spiritual. For the eternal. For whatever Jesus loves.

My question is how can the church (that would be ALL of us) be in such a place that our leaders speak truth publicly and nurture sin privately? What are we doing wrong? What are we thinking wrong? I don’t know, but I have some thoughts. Please get ready, because I might be about to step on your toes.

How will our kids accomplish victorious living in our current realities? They must walk in the knowledge of what the Lord HAS DONE so they can believe that He WILL DO it again. Never has it been more important that they understand this.
