Episode 48

Your story holds great value for your kids and grandkids. Do you want to tell your story but the job seems too daunting to begin? Then I have the perfect guest for you today. Judy Watters teaches how to write memoir, so you can share with the generations to come how Jesus has worked in your life. Come listen and then write your story!

Judy Watters is a freelance writer, editor, and author of more than 30 books. Though she has taken a rabbit trail into low content books, her first love is memoir writing and introducing others to the whole idea that they have a story the world needs to hear. She and her husband have 3 grown children, one DIL, one most gorgeous granddaughter, 2 grand-cats, and a one-eyed rescue dog named Lacey.

Favorite quotes from the interview:

  • God really did prepare me every step of the way.

  • You can’t teach someone something without learning something yourself.

  • Even if our children aren’t interested in our stories now, they will be someday.

  • Generations to come need to know that you fought the good battle. That you had problems. You weren’t a perfect. Perhaps you had problems you created yourself. And how you got out of it; how you grew.

  • Enjoy the process. Don’t let any time go by that you’re not loving on your kids. You're not encouraging them and inspiring them to be the best that they can be.
