Take Your Kids to the Symphony Instead

Bravo Broadway!
Bravo Broadway!

Entertainment for kids has become big business. And expensive.

The local amusement park is well over $50 just to get in. Add on the overpriced food and drink and the price per person is way up there.

But all amusement, from bowling to laser tag to arcades to restaurants with fake elephants glaring at you from the corner, is pricey and over-the-top.

Is it just me, or does it seem like it takes increased noise, fancier lights, louder music and just plain MORE in order to begin to satiate the need for the modern child to be entertained?

Where is the culture? The subtlety? The class?

When do our children learn to behave like humans? Where do they see cultured behavior to emulate?

Why have we devolved to the lowest common denominator? When did we start amusing ourselves to death, not only to the death of our minds but also of our souls?

Go To The Symphony

This weekend you can go see a San Antonio Symphony performance with two great performers singing Broadway show tunes. What a fantastic "gateway" into valuable evening for your family. Here is a link to get tickets:

Just think, you have a chance for your kids to dress up and go out to an event where their senses will not be assaulted. Rather they will be enticed, enthralled, enraptured, and exposed to artistry.

Take your kids to the symphony and give them the gift of beauty. You couldn't make a better investment.[tweetthis]Take your kids to the symphony and give them beauty. You couldn't make a better investment. #SASYM[/tweetthis]
