Day 8: REMEMBERING God Is Faithful
EBENEZER: STONE OF HELP
"The ROCK, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of FAITHFULNESS and without iniquity, just and upright is he. Deuteronomy 32:4
REMEMBER VERSE
My soul continually REMEMBERS it … The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your FAITHFULNESS. Lamentations 3:20a, 22-23
DEVOTION
I am determined to REMEMBER that my Lord is FAITHFUL. He is reliable, therefore I depend on Him, trust Him, believe His Words, know His promises, and rely on His covenant.
I can rely on Jesus because His FAITHFULNESS means He’s trustworthy. If I FORGET He is FAITHFUL, I doubt His goodness and I question His plans. I fear bad outcomes and strive to force things to work out. I rely on myself instead of Him.
FAITHFULNESS is in short supply in the modern world. But the Inventor of it, embodies what FAITHFULNESS means. He eternally works His plans. He never leaves or forsakes us. He fulfills His promises. He’s FAITHFUL.
He is FAITHFUL.
For the word of the LORD is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness. Psalm 33:4 ESV
PRAYER: Thank You that ALL that You do is FAITHFUL. Other people may fail me — You never will.
Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Psalm 36:5 ESV
PRAYER: Lord, thank You that everything You do is infused with Your steady, true love. I praise You that I couldn’t measure Your FAITHFULNESS if I tried. It is just too great.
For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5 ESV
PRAYER: Thank you that Your love extends past me to my kids, my spouse, and all my family. Lord, please help them to experience and understand You FAITHFUL love for themselves.
QUESTIONS
If you’ve experienced unfaithfulness and untrustworthiness from others, it’s hard to trust. Identify past hurts that impede you from BELIEVING and TRUSTING that the Lord’s FAITHFULNESS is complete, sure, and unalterable. Write them down.
Where do you experience fear in your life? Would applying the fact that Jesus is completely FAITHFUL change that fear?
What have you been hanging onto that you need to release to your FAITHFUL Lord?
CHALLENGE
It’s difficult to look fear in the eye and choose to trust the Lord instead. But I am challenging you to do that anyway. Read your list from the first and second questions above. Say to each item, “My God is FAITHFUL!”
Where do you feel unfaithful? Where do your good intentions fail to meet your reality? We all have those areas — ALL OF US! So today, let’s ask God to fill our lives with HIS faithfulness. His supply is limitless, so don’t hesitate to return for more.
