47. Using Your Skills In The Empty Nest. Interview with Christa Hutchins

Episode 47

We might have ideas of new calling in the empty nest, but how do we move from idea to action to effectiveness? Today’s guest, Christa Hutchins is just the person to help. Her background in project management in the corporate world brings a wealth of information and assistance to those of us trying to serve God while doing all the things!

Christa Hutchins equips busy communicators and leaders with project management and problem solving skills so they can turn their big ideas into a successful ministry or business. She is passionate about teaching women to find practical application of the Bible in their personal, professional and ministry lives. Christa lives in south Louisiana with her husband in their delightfully empty nest.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from this interview and links to the resources Christa mentioned.

Quotes From Christa

  • Understand the big vision: where you are headed. And then know your first two or three things. Start taking the steps. The path will sort itself out as you go down the path.

  • Clarity comes from action. And action is one simple thing.

  • Get started … You will be happier and more satisfied in that you’re actually making a difference when you will step in and take the first few steps bravely and with confidence that the Lord is by your side than if you sit back and wait for months and months trying to figure everything out and make sure you know everything before you start.

  • Be willing to open your hands so you can let it go and let God put something different in your hands.

  • Enjoy the season your are in without dreading the season that is to come.
